Research- Jessie J and Lava Records

I carried some research into the artist i was planning on using some music from and her record company to see if i could gain any further knowledge that could help me in my task. By doing this i was able to gain a better knowledge of the style of video that would compliment the music well.

 

 

 

 

·         Jessie J is a British Singer song writer

·         Most people see her as an unconventional performer

·         She has a unique style that mixes soul vocals with contemporary R&B, pop, and hip-hop back tracks

·         Jessie J has sold over 11 million singles and 2.5 million albums worldwide

·         Jessie was accepted into the BRIT school in 2004 and graduated in 2006

·         Jessie was originally singed to Gut records but the company went bankrupt before any of her music could be realised

·         She was later signed as a Song writer to Sony ATV on a publishing contract

·         Jessie was the singed to Lava Records after the president of Sony ATV sent their president to Jessie’s MySpace which he enjoyed

·         After a change of manager where label negations where able to take place Jessie signed to Lava with a joint venture with Universal Music

·         Jessie was lucky to perform at the 2012 Olympics and sing the parts of Freddie Mercury with queen.

Lava Record Company

·         Lava Records is an American record label, owned by Universal Music Group, and operated through Universal Republic Records.

·         Lava Records was started in 1995 and was a joint project between Atlantic Records and Jason Flom

·         Lava records holds a pretty extensive and impressive array of acts past and present including Black Veil  Brides, Jessie J, Basement Jaxx and The Corrs
