Construction- A2 Media Music Video Final Edit- Mamma Knows Best

This is my final Edit of my A2 Media Music video to 'Mamma Knows Best by Jessie J'
(This should be watched in 1080p HD setting)

Unfortunately when transferring the video to YouTube even in its highest quality setting I seem to lose the HD effect and am left with a fuzzy video, this upsets me as my video is crystal clear on the editing software. It also seems to push some bits out of sync after seeing this in my draft I tried to change this but it still seems to occur on YouTube.
From my first draft I added auto contrast and fast colour corrector to most of my shots to make the scenes brighter and clearer (This can be seen below) I think this has defiantly improved my video and the difference can be seen between the two videos quite clearly.

From My second draft I added a shot at 30 seconds as people had only seen it later in the video and they suggested it might be better to see it earlier so that they could get a idea of all the different sides/ costumes of the character, therefore I moved the pan shot that was here to later on in the video as to not lose this shot and to break up a section that ws heavy on close up shots.

I am very happy with my video and to say I have come under major difficulties and only had a week to complete the whole process feel that I have come out with a professional piece, something much better than I ever thought I could achieve, I didn't completely stick to all of the plans I produced due to changes in performer at the last minute and I did run over on my timing that I wrote on my schedule but I am pleased with the results.

Evaluation-Question 1

I decided to show my answer for question one In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? by presenting it in the form of Prezi presentation which highlights key points in order to answer the question.

Evaluation- Question 2

Evaluation-Question 3

AWhat have you learned from your audience feedback?

In order to completed this question I used many different interactive and creative mediums to try and show all the feedback and thoughts I received. I have used Xtranormal Videos, Wordle and Prezi to do this, I used these for the reasons that I felt it added, fun and was interesting to look at and interact with I also felt it brightened up my blog posts.

My first set of feedback came from my class, we had a viewing of the videos and each had to give both positive and critical points for each video below I have created a Wordle to show some of the words that were used to describe my video.

I also sent out an e-mail to people to ask for their feedback this can be seen below these were sent by school e-mail:

These are some emails which I have had replies to seen below.

I also sent another set of email out on Facebook to try and get  more varied feedback
These are some of replies I received. By looking at these replies I was able to see what people truly thought and how i could improve, I felt that I received truthful feedback as people were willing to give constructive criticism which they might have not been so willing to in person.
When looking at this feedback I was happy with the feedback I recieved especially with it coming from a male, someone out of my target audience, but disagreed with his second point, as the idea of using one character was to back up the artists and making the artist the most important part of the video or as Dyer says 'enhancing the star image'. I also used three location, I felt this was more than enough variation as some videos I had watched during my research only used 2 locations.

This feedback was mainly positive and was very helpful as it came from a girl within my target audience, she commented on the lip syncing which I had already established as a slight problem for me, but I am sure this is a problem when uploaded to youtube rather than editing.

Again this feedback is from a girl in my target audeince and so her opionion is key for me, she commented on that she expected the dancing within the video because of the beat and tempo of the song and would have been surprised if it wasnt there. She said that I could have improved by using more variations in backgrounds, as this has been repeated it may have been something I needed to address however I still feel I had enough backgrounds and settings in my video and I am happy with what I produced.

In this reply Hannah stated I could have releated the song and video more, I thought of a loose story line in my head that wasnt really shown over camera as much as it could, so this is a piece of feedback that if i had time to do it again I would probably take on bored and use to better my video.

Charlotte, who is also my actor was useful for feedback as she knew what went in to the video but was also able to be critical as a watcher of the video, she commented on how she liked the different effects such as the reverse, she also thought that little shots were used in the place of long shots, however she would have challenged Peter Fraser idea of close ups creating intamacy between character and audience, by saying she would have preffered to see less close ups.
Here are some of the words that I picked out of my feedback of my video from the various sources using Wordle.

I also used Xtranormal to create a video which shows a few answers to question which I gathered from my feedback from my video this is shown  in the video below

I then created a Prezi to show the feedback I received for my ancillary tasks, this allowed me to see how potential customers would see my product and weather it would influence them to buy my products or not.

From the image below we can see that my video mainly reached Female viewers which is what I had hoped for when I created the video, female viewers doubled that of male viewers

Following this we can see the main age group of my viewers was between 13-17 again I had hoped for my viwers to be between 12 and 21 so to have the middle section have the most viewers again shows that I have markleted my video at the right target market

Below is the graph that clearly shows the age and gender split of my video viewers with orange representing girls and blue for the boys.

Evaluation- Question 4

In order to complete my question 4 of my evaluation I used windows movie maker to produce a video that explains the different technologies I used to produce my overall coursework.

This can be seen below.

Construction- A2 Media Video- 'Mamma Knows Best' Second Draft

This is my second draft edit of my A2 Media Video 'Mamma Knows Best'

Unfortunately when transferring the video to YouTube even in its highest quality setting I seem to lose the HD effect and I am left with a fuzzy video, this upsets me as my video is crystal clear on the editing software. It also seems to push some bits out of sync after seeing this in my draft I tried to change this but it still seems to occur on YouTube.

From my first draft I added auto contrast and fast colour corrector to most of my shots to make the scenes brighter and clearer I think this has defiantly improved my video and the difference can be seen between the two videos quite clearly.

I like this edit but I am going to ask peoples opinion and try and adapt my video slightly in the time I have left.

Ebony: I liked the style and the different edits, if you have time I think you should move the slicked back hair clip further on so it isnt such a surprise later on in the video as it looks a bit out of place.

Sam: The lighting change that you have done makes it look so much better, it makes Charlotte stick out which is great as her perofomance is awesome!! I still would have liked to see the garden shots change to a coloured brick wall, however I do understand under your time constraints that this was not accessable for you and what you have done in the time you have had since losing your original performer is great.

Mr Turner: I like the Hair back shot and think it should be seen earlier on, the video looks better since you have contolled the lighting better and removed the milky film that could be seen in some of your original shots.
